Faqs

  • How long will I take to heal?
The skin will generally heal at 1 week for eyebrow treatments and 4-5 days for lip blush. While you are surface healed in this time, the colour will not fully settle underneath the skin for 4-8 weeks.
  • How long will my tattoo last?
This is dependent on life style factors, skin type and the type of tattoo you choose. Cosmetic tattooing will generally last 1-5 years.
  • Will cosmetic tattooing affect my natural hair growth?
No, your cosmetic tattoo will not penetrate your skin deep enough to damage your hair follicle.
  • Is cosmetic tattooing maintenance free?
Cosmetic tattooing is low maintenance, not maintenance free. Regular grooming appointment are still required to hold your new shape and to get the most from your treatment.
  • Should I wax prior to my appointment?
You can wax your eyebrows 24 hours prior to treatment but not sooner. Wax can not be used on the day of your cosmetic tattoo or two weeks after. A razor and tweezers will be used on the day if required.
  • What can I expect after the treatment?
For the first few days, the colour of your eyebrows will appear darker than what you expected. This is a normal part of healing. Around day four, you will begin to experience light dandruff like flaking and your eyebrows may be itchy. This will usually last 7-10 days post treatment. Once the flaking has stopped, you may experience some patchiness for up to two weeks while the colour continues to settle.
  • Can I have cosmetic tattooing while pregnant or breast feeding?
No, you can not have cosmetic tattooing while pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Can I bring my children to my appointment?
Unfortunately, this is not an environment safe for children and we request that you come alone to your appointment.
  • How will we determine a colour for my eyebrows?
The colour used for your eyebrows will be matched to your existing eyebrow hair colour and skin tone. We follow the skin Fitzpatrick chart when determining a colour and we will consult with you regarding this prior to commencing treatment.
  • How many appointments are needed?
All cosmetic tattoo appointments will require 1-2 sessions. The second appointment is to make any minor corrections, changes and colour enhancements where necessary.
  • Does the treatment hurt?
Pain is minimal to none. Most clients find treatment slightly uncomfortable but completely bearable.
  • Is there any downtime?
The colour may be darker and more vibrant than what it will heal to for the first 4-5 days and lip blush clients may experience swelling to the treatment area for 1-3 days. Most clients will resume normal activities immediately after treatment.
  • Is it possible I will get an infection?
Infection is highly unlikely as everything we use is sterile and one time use only. Infection would lie in your aftercare and how well you are taking care of the treatment area.
  • I have a history of cold sores, can I still have lip blush?
If you have a cold sore present on the day of treatment, you will need to reschedule your appointment. If you have had a cold sore in the past or if you have the virus, there is a risk of having an outbreak and it may be a good idea to speak to a medical professional about anti-viral medication leading up to the appointment.
  • How long should I wait to get lip fillers?
Please wait 4 weeks pre and post treatment. We recommend getting your lip fillers before lip blush if this is something you are planning on having done.
  • How long should I wait to get anti-wrinkle injections?
Please wait 2 weeks pre and post treatment.
  • Can you overline my lips with lip blush?
No, we cannot overline your lips with this procedure. We will only work on lip skin which means we can only correct minor asymmetries. If you are looking to correct major asymmetry, lip filler is recommended 4 weeks prior to your lip blush treatment. The reason we cannot overline the lips is that lip skin and facial skin where pores are present will heal the pigment differently leaving you with obvious and unnatural results.
